Filming of the Movie "THIRTEEN DAYS" .

The USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr DD850 left her berth at Fall River, MA on 24 April, 2000 to star in the motion picture, "THIRTEEN DAYS". This movie stars Kevin Costner in a epic tale regarding one of the most heated and tense times of the Cold War: The Cuban Missile Crisis.

USS Joseph P. Kennedy DD850 played herself as well as the USS John Pierce DD753, as both were involved in the first stop of the freighter, MARUCLA, that was potentially carrying missiles to Cuba in October 1962.

Be sure to see the Joseph P. Kennedy in the movie, THIRTEEN DAYS . To view the official movie trailer you will need the Quictime movie download. Click on the Quicktime graphic, download the files, and then click on the below Thirteen Days Trailer link. The use of Microsoft Explorer is highly recommended.

Depending on your internet connection, it may take several minutes to download the movie clip.
