History of USS Castle DD720 and USS Woodrow R. Thompson DD721



USS Castle DD720 was launched by the Federal Shipbuilding and Drydocking Company on 11 July, 1945. USS Woodrow R. Thompson DD721 was launched at the above yard on 1 August, 1945. Work was cancelled on both ships 11 December, 1945 while Castle was 60.3% complete and Thompson 53.3%. After being used for parts and such for their active sisters,these hulks were sold for scrap 29 August, 1955.
