USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. DD850 Destroyer Museum
at Battleship Cove, Fall River, Massachusetts.

DS-1284 seen on the flight deck with the old museum bulkhead on hangar.

DASH Rollup Door Installation.
February 2004.

In early 2004, the look of the "Joey P" changed dramatically on the DASH deck. Using a grant from the Tin Can Sailors Association, Ed Zajkowski and employees of the Overhead Door Company ripped out the old KENNEDY Family at Sea exhibit bulkhead and installed the original style DASH Hangar door. It has been over twenty years since KENNEDY had her original FRAM door and the first time any of our volunteer crew members have seen Kennedy in her original 1960s configuration at Battleship Cove.

Cutting away the old museum bulkhead. The old museum bulkhead has been dropped.
Up goes the door's roller. The door itself is being put in position.
The door is being lifted into place. The door being unrolled for the first time.
