Construction Photos of Bethlehem Steel Hull number 1576
Fore River Shipyard, Quincy, Massachusetts

Interesting note is that hull DD850 was originally intended to be built in Bethlehem Shipbuilding's California yard as the USS Cecil P. Cooper. Upon the death of Joseph Kennedy Jr, the navy was petitioned and the ship authorization was transfered to the Quincy Yard on 13 November, 1944.

All Main frames, bulkheads, and foc'sle are taking shape in this May 3, 1945 picture	Main deck and turret structure have been developed in this June 3, 1945 photo.
