A necessity in the Tin Can fleet, the bosun's chair was in constant use. The destroyers nest. Very common to have to cross over many ships to get to the pier. Here Kennedy 850 is seen with USS Perry (DD844), USS Charles R. Ware(DD865), and USS Johnston (DD821).
Escort duty was a major task . Here JPK refuels from USS Wisconsin during a Naval Reserve Cruise on 18 March, 1949. Liberty Party stands ready at the Quarterdeck on January 22, 1954.
Here JPK is fueling at sea from the USS Severn AO61. Photo by Roger Babcock. JPK underway with #2 stack smoking black! Photo by Roger Babcock.
Mail Call. Here Ralph Powell and Bill Price are shown at the JPK's Post Office in 1953.
